JOB TITLE: Friend of the Court Account Specialist

REPORTS TO: Friend of the Court

SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of clerical functions involved in setting up case files, entering case information into the computer, processing account adjustments, auditing payment accounts, and performing other related clerical functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes new case files. Enters case information into the computer, including initial case filings and orders, modified court orders, and related case information.*
  • Enters parenting time credit, emancipations, order modifications, income withholding orders, and account adjustments into the computer.*
  • Audits client accounts to verify account status. Meets with clients and/or court staff to explain audit findings and payment histories.*
  • Assists clients, attorneys and other agencies by verifying account status. Provides information about account credits and FOC policies and procedures in response to routine inquiries.
  • Prepares and sends correspondence to clients explaining account credits, account status and payment histories.*
  • Processes certifications and decertifications verifying status of accounts, transferring accounts, and requesting refunds from the State for account overpayments.*
  • Assists in processing mail, receiving support payments, screening telephone calls and visitors, scheduling appointments and in other areas of the office when required.
  • May assist in all 46th Circuit Trial Court Divisions when necessary to meet the needs of the court.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Judge.
