JOB TITLE: Law Clerk

REPORTS TO: Chief Judge and Administrators

SUMMARY:

As a law school student or graduate, assists judges by conducting legal research, writing memoranda, and drafting opinions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists judges by conducting legal research, analyzing legal materials and court briefs from attorneys.*
  • Confers with judges to discuss legal research materials.*
  • Assists judges by drafting opinions. *
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Judge.
  • May assist in all 46th Circuit Trial Court Divisions when necessary to meet the needs of the court.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Judge.
